The best way to practice the Long Relax, to help you establish a very deep level where you can correct more problems and achieve more goals is as follows:
Memorize the Long Relaxation Exercise. Don't listen to a tape, not at first. You can listen to a tape later.
If you listen to a tape at first, it will automate you, and it will cease to be effective.
You can memorize it however you can. It doesn't have to be word by word. It is repetitive, so it is easy to memorize. But it doesn't have to be word by word, just the context of the exercise.
In searching for the correct phrase, it works a lot better, because of your intent, because of your involvement.
It is better to learn it on your own, not have anybody read it to you, not listen to a tape.
Now after you have practiced it ten or twenty times, then you can use a tape if you want to.
